Podcast: Next Century Cities Discusses the Importance of Local Leadership in Bridging the Digital Divide

Power Station is a platform that explores how organizations build community and influence. Previous guests include nonprofit leaders from the National Low-Income Housing Coalition, Groundswell, Byte Back, Native CDFI Coalition, and Casa. On January 13, 2020, Power Station featured an interview with Francella Ochillo, Next Century Cities’ Executive Director.

Anne Pasmanick, Power Station’s Host, inquired about how Next Century Cities is working to support local broadband connectivity solutions. Specifically, Francella was asked to share examples of role model communities that are expanding broadband access. She also discussed how NCC has been able to galvanize various stakeholders and the impact that digital access could have on participation in the Census 2020.

Francella concluded the interview with recommendations for ways that philanthropic, nonprofit allies, and the public could help support Next Century Cities’ efforts. For details, listen to the episode here.
