Next Century Cities Is Focused on Infusing Local Perspectives Into State and Federal Policymaking

Next Century Cities is constantly working to create platforms for local officials to contribute to policy-making dialogues at every level of government. To that end, on May 27, 2020, NCC hosted a webinar to discuss the many ways for local officials to engage in state and federal policymaking.

Kathryn de Wit of Pew Research and Jon Sallet of Benton Institute for Broadband & Society reiterated the importance of elevating local connectivity challenges while finding ways to work in partnership with state and federal governments. Kathryn’s research is featured in Pew Charitable Trusts’ report on How States Are Expanding Broadband Access. Jon’s research is showcased in Benton’s Broadband for America’s Future: A Vision for 2020s

Next Century Cities’ own Ryan Johnston and Lukas Pietrzak encouraged members to use NCC as a resource, offering details on NCC’s work to support local initiatives. Thanks to  Internet Society Live, we were able to livestream the webinar
