On May 14, 2020, local officials in Next Century Cities’ network had a unique opportunity to meet with Federal Communications Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel. Representatives from Fort Collins, CO; Holland, MI; Keene, NH; Los Angeles, CA; Louisville, KY; and Seattle, WA, came together in a video conference to share connectivity needs and network performance updates for their respective communities. They cited specific concerns related to inadequate broadband speeds, pole attachment policies, accommodating distance learning, supporting municipal network models, and improving broadband mapping data.
