Host a Municipal Broadband Screening in Your Community

Trying to spark a conversation about municipal broadband in your community? Host a screening of the short film Do Not Pass Go! The documentary follows filmmaker Cullen Hoback’s visit to Pinetops, North Carolina, to investigate the battle between municipal networks and private providers.

Screenings are a great opportunity to bring together residents and community leaders who are interested in improving local connectivity. There is much that can be learned from the story of Pinetops and Wilson’s Greenlight fiber network, and it can make a good starting off point for a discussion about local issues.

Meetings like this have already taken place across the country, including in Boulder, Colo. Next Century Cities and the Institute for Local Self-Reliance have even put together a guide on how to host your own community screening here. Be sure to let us know if you decide to host a screening! We are happy to answer your questions along the way and help coordinate a panel or moderated discussion as part of your event.

Do Not Pass Go is available to be streamed via Vimeo at no charge for community screenings, and can also be purchased on Blu-ray or DVD. For more information, contact
