Next Century Cities staff answered questions about some of their favorite things and the cities associated with them. Read Francella’s responses below.
In what city did your favorite food dish originate or in what city have you had your most memorable meal?
I’m torn between jambalaya and red beans and rice. Both have to be made with love. Both remind me of home.
What is the nickname of your favorite city that you have visited or lived in?
In what city does your favorite movie or television show take place?
One of my favorite movies takes place in one of my favorite cities. Love Actually – a Christmas treasure that competes with Hallmark’s Christmas in July lineup – highlights some of the best bits and pieces of London.
In what city was your favorite concert and/or festival located?
I am obsessed with good music and believe that you can have a great concert in your living room. If I had to choose one epic event, it would be the 2013 Budweiser Made in America concert series in Philadelphia. It was two days of Beyoncé, Imagine Dragons, Macklemore, Emeli Sande, Calvin Harris, Wiz Khalifa, Rudimental, and others…. an outrageously good time.
It’s always exciting to find a new mural in the most unexpected places around DC. This Adams Morgan neighborhood gem (pictured above) is designed by artist Cita Sadeli.
